Director of Hull based Trident

Our 2015 Digital Awards Lifetime Contribution winner, David Keel is co-founder and Global Innovations Director of Hull based Trident – founded in 1993 with just 5 staff and now employing 750 people worldwide (300 at its Kingswood, Hull HQ) creating and managing the digital packaging assets for some of the world’s best known brands. David is also Chair of Hull’s C4DI, leveraging his experiences of rapid business growth and pivoting a traditional business into a cutting edge tech business to help local businesses to achieve similar objectives. David is an energetic supporter of Hull College and Hull School of Art and Design, serves as a Governor of the forthcoming UTC, a trustee of the Hull2017 Enterprises Board and a proud City of Culture Volunteer.

Founder of Gadget Shop and RED5

Jonathan has spent the last 25 years creating and managing fast growing businesses and market leading brands. He was the Founder and Managing Director of the original market leading Gadget Shop high street chain, he was Co-Founder of Blue Sky Designs product development business, Co-Founder and Managing Director of the brand leading RED5 gift and gadget business, as well as Co-Founder of The Source gift distribution business, amongst other business interests. Both The Gadget Shop and RED5 where identified in the top 100 fastest growing private Companies in Britain in the Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track Awards. RED5 was recently sold in a multi-million pound deal. Jonathan has a wide range of experience and proven success in developing and growing brands, and a keen understanding of emerging trends and consumer demands, along with Far East sourcing and product development expertise. Jonathan has an Honorary Doctorate in Business Administration and serves on the board of Community Interest Company For Entrepreneurs Only.

Chief Executive and Principal Consultant of DeltaHedron Ltd

Dr Calie Pistorius is the Chief Executive and Principal Consultant of DeltaHedron Ltd, a Hull-based business consulting company with a global reach. The firm specialises in the management of technological innovation, with a focus on the impact, opportunities and strategic business risks and threats presented by emerging technologies and the dynamics of technological change. He is a former Chair of the National Advisory Council on Innovation in South Africa, former Vice- Chancellor of the University of Hull and former Vice-Chancellor and Principal of the University of Pretoria in South Africa, where was also the Director of the Institute of Technological Innovation. He is registered as a Chartered Engineer in the UK and holds a PhD degree in electrical engineering from the Ohio State University, a masters degree in the management of technology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, a bachelors degree in electronics engineering from the University of Pretoria and is an alumnus of Harvard Business School.

Ken Sturdy

Managing Director IT@Spectrum

Ken is Managing Director of office technology business IT@Spectrum. Having being appointed as a Director in 2000, he led a management buyout in 2003, and now heads up a team of 55 staff operating throughout Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. Ken has applied a logical, process driven approach to structuring and growing a customer focussed, sales led business, achieving ISO 9001 and Investor in People accreditation along the way.

In 2014 IT@Spectrum entered a joint venture with telecoms and IT support provider The One Point, and the two businesses have recently come together in brand new purpose built premises at Bridgehead Business Park Hessle, creating a platform for continued collaboration and growth across a wide portfolio of managed technology services.

Ken is also Vice Chair of The Constellation Multi Academy Trust (formerly Sirius Academy MAT), a Trustee of the Child Dynamix charity, and sits on the Board of the East Yorkshire branch of the Institute of Directors.

European and Asia Managing Director, Trident

Annette is the European and Asia Managing Director of Hull based digital packaging and brand graphics business - Trident. Since joining Trident 18 years ago in the Customer Service team, from a background in advertising and media buying, she has worked in many roles across the business over the years and as Managing Director, is now responsible for Trident’s constantly growing operations in the UK, Singapore, China, Australia and India. Working with a global team, Annette has an extensive track record over the last 18 years, building relationships and delivering client-focused solutions for leading blue chip companies and household brand names around the world. Born, bred and educated in Hull, Annette is focused on growing the business and creating continued career opportunities in Hull - and around the world.

Alan Worthing

Director of Business, KCOM

Alan Worthing is Director of Business for Hull communications company KCOM. He has been involved in communications since joining the Royal Signals in 1987; a role which saw him deploying comms networks across the globe.

After leaving the army Alan worked for global tech companies including Nortel, Cable and Wireless and Virgin Media before joining KCOM in 2012 as its Business Sales Director. His current focus is on delivering the UK’s fastest Fibre To The Premise (FTTP) business connectivity to Hull and East Yorkshire companies of all sizes; ensuring KCOM delivers an exceptional customer experience and supporting businesses to make the most of cloud services including Office365 and KCOM’s SmartComms phone system.

In his spare time Alan is an avid skier and dog walker and a member of the Hull and Humber Chamber of Commerce Council.

John Hope

John Hope

Programme lead for Eagle Labs, Barclays

Jon has worked for Barclays for 13 years, joining after completing his Masters in Mechanical Engineering and a winter season in Switzerland, working and leaning to ski.

Since starting with Barclays, Jon has spent periods working in India, London and Cheshire, the latter which he now considers home. Over this time he's taken lead roles involving: Process reengineering and Outsourcing, Regulatory change, Corporate Communications, Marketing Strategy, Corporate Strategy and Transformational Change. Jon is currently Programme lead for Eagle Labs, responsible for the strategy, client proposition and future roll-out.

Sarah Pashley

Principal of RDUTC

Sarah was born in Hull and was educated in both Hull and the East Riding. Prior to taking up post as Principal of RDUTC Sarah was Headteacher at Bridlington School for seven years. During this time she transformed it into one of the most successful schools in the country for student progress. Other roles have included Deputy Headteacher at Beverley High School and Deputy Headteacher at Kelvin Hall School. Sarah is passionate about developing vocational and technical education to enthuse and engage young people and ensure they have the knowledge, skills, qualifications and experience to excel at school and in their careers. She is exceptionally committed to promoting the roles of women in the Engineering and Digital Technology industries. Her key aim at RDUTC is to ensure it is a flagship of the UTC movement and changes the educational landscape of our region to meet the demands of its ongoing transformation.
