Our 2015 Digital Awards Lifetime Contribution winner, David Keel was co-founder and Global Innovations Director of Hull based Trident – founded in 1993 with just 5 staff and growing to employ 750 people worldwide (300 at its Kingswood, Hull HQ) by creating and managing the digital packaging assets for some of the world’s best known brands. David is also Chair of Hull’s C4DI, leveraging his experiences of rapid business growth and pivoting a traditional business into a cutting edge tech business to help local businesses to achieve similar objectives. David serves as a Governor of the Ron Dearing UTC, was a proud City of Culture Volunteer and currently works as a specialist consultant via his company Keel Innovative Digital (Hull) Ltd. [HullKID]!

Chief Executive and Principal Consultant of DeltaHedron Ltd

Dr Calie Pistorius is the Chief Executive and Principal Consultant of DeltaHedron Ltd, a Hull-based business consulting company with a global reach. The firm specialises in the management of technological innovation, with a focus on the impact, opportunities and strategic business risks and threats presented by emerging technologies and the dynamics of technological change. He is a former Chair of the National Advisory Council on Innovation in South Africa, former Vice- Chancellor of the University of Hull and former Vice-Chancellor and Principal of the University of Pretoria in South Africa, where was also the Director of the Institute of Technological Innovation. He is registered as a Chartered Engineer in the UK and holds a PhD degree in electrical engineering from the Ohio State University, a masters degree in the management of technology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, a bachelors degree in electronics engineering from the University of Pretoria and is an alumnus of Harvard Business School.

Matt Nicholson is a Technical Director providing Global IT and Development Services to the Global Brands Management industry. Working for Sonoco-Trident for over 10 years, he has accumulated over 27 years of technical experience during his career to date. During this time Matt has worked with organisations throughout EMEA the US and Asia-Pacific regions, specialising in the organisational change management, enterprise systems design and development, implementation delivery and support.

Steve was born in Hull and has lived and worked in the area most of his life.
He played a leading role in driving forward the school improvement agenda, particularly in terms of developing the curriculum, raising standards of teaching and embedding the use of digital technologies (Steve’s personal area of expertise). In addition, Steve has industry experience having served an apprenticeship in a range of IT support sectors including Local Government and Retail & Logistics. He was also an ICT Network Manager for five years, other roles have included Assistant Headteacher at Bridlington School, Assistant Headteacher at Kelvin Hall School (where he led the BSF design and build project for the new school) and Head of ICT.

Alan Worthing

Director of Business, KCOM

Alan Worthing is Director of Business for Hull communications company KCOM. He has been involved in communications since joining the Royal Signals in 1987; a role which saw him deploying comms networks across the globe.

After leaving the army Alan worked for global tech companies including Nortel, Cable and Wireless and Virgin Media before joining KCOM in 2012 as its Business Sales Director.
His current focus is on delivering the UK’s fastest Fibre To The Premise (FTTP) business connectivity to Hull and East Yorkshire companies of all sizes; ensuring KCOM delivers an exceptional customer experience and supporting businesses to make the most of cloud services including Office365 and KCOM’s VOIP Smartcomms solution. In his spare time Alan is an avid skier and dog walker and a member of the Hull & Humber Chamber of Commerce Council.

Claire Clark​

Director of Development at Sauce

Claire is a Chartered Engineer, specialising in Change Management and Planning in complex, quality technical environments. Since graduating with BSc Hons Computer Science with Information Engineering at the University of Hull, Claire has achieved several industry recognised professional project management related qualifications and has progressed her career through a number of engineering roles to her current role of Director of Development at Sauce, based in Hull.

Claire has extensive experience in managing cross-skilled and diverse engineering teams. This includes management of Software, Firmware and Hardware Development Teams whilst being responsible for the full development lifecycle of a number of products. Claire is also an experienced Auditor with a number of relevant ISO certifications.

Jon Stevens

Technical Consultant

Originally from Hull, Jon has spent the last 13 years working in the USA, currently based in Miami, Florida. Originally Jon travelled to the US to seed a Hull startup business in Cincinnati, and more recently relocated to Miami as Senior Vice President of Process and Technology for Sgsco where the main challenge was aligning process across multiple different locations and various acquisitions around the globe. Jon now works independently as a consultant in the packaging and Ecommerce industries, focussed on emerging and disruptive technologies and how they can be applied to long standing challenges in packaging. Jon’s background is technical, but has also developed strong connections with the world’s largest consumer products companies looking to improve their packaging supply chain through technology and innovation.

Bruce Charlesworth

RB VP of Healthcare R&D

For the past 4 years Bruce has been a Vice President of healthcare research and development at RB, a leading health and consumer goods company famous for household brands such as Dettol, Durex, Nurofen, Gaviscon, Strepsils, Optrex and Scholl. Bruce leads the R&D teams on the 1400 strong Hull site as well as having direct responsibility for Gaviscon, Optrex and the technical science functions there. He is also a non-executive Director of C4DI based Moodbeam. Bruce also led a start up diagnostics business before taking the world-renowned health outcomes agency Adelphi Values through 5 years of growth as the Global President.
